Miami music sounds amazing for the Superbowl

Ears this weekend are sure to be all over the place. Anticipation is building for the big game Sunday and the soundtrack of Miami is hotter than ever. The free BIG names in Miami start tonight (thursday) and go through Saturday but I don’t feel like promoting them, so I’m going to suggest some less known stuff that is bound to kick bass. Once again, always free unless posted otherwise.

Thursday at the University of Miami the lovely Bridget Davis and Alexandra Stewart are putting on a jazz concert at the Wesley Coffeehouse on campus across the street from that link at 8pm. Free donuts and coffee.

Friday brings Portecho from Turkey to Electric Pickle (2826 North Miami Avenue). Their blend of acoustic riffs into straight BUmPinG electro tracks is sure to light the dance floor on fire. ($10 cover for touring band) Earlier in the evening the pianist Emmet Cohen brings a trio to Books and Books for early evening dinner fare.

On Saturday it’s a free for all! Get to South Beach and keep an eye out for celebrities,  or head to Ft. Lauderdale because those who shall not be named will probably put on a good free show here starting at 5pm, concluding with fireworks.

Make it a great weekend yall, hope to see you out there! Dont forget to dance, with or without your pants.
